He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Gossett, and Louise Cochran Gossett, Sr.; his grandparents, Taylor and Daisy Cochran; his siblings, Kay Williams, Peggy Young and Jimmy Lee Gossett; his grandson Kevin Denton (BB); his nephew Jimmy "Pottie" Sneed; and his siblings-in-law, Bobby, Randall Mathis, Wanda Brown, Marcelle Burkeen and Betty Jensen.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Mathis Gossett; his daughter Rhonda Denton (Allan Kirby); his grandchildren, Lindsey Denton O'Neal (Marquis) and Chad Denton (Julia); and his siblings-in-law, Billy Mathis (Ann), Doug Jensen, Sandra Murie (Bob), Martha Minneker, Doris Kedrow and Kay Goodwin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
