He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Benjamin Griffin and Pauline Davis Griffin; his children, Sharon Bernice Baker and Kurt Vandenberg; and his brothers, Hugh Gene "Tommy" Griffin, Robert "Bobby" Griffin and Davis "Grip" Griffin.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Griffin; his children, Johanna Griffin, Paula Vandenberg (Jimmy) of Alameda, CA, David Vandenberg of Oakland, CA and Keith Vandenberg of Ukiah, CA; his grandchildren, David Vandenberg, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Lucianna Vandenberg of White Salmon, WA, Kelly Phillips and Brittany Baker of Dalton, GA; and his sisters, Willa Faye Williams, Caroline Virginia Broome and Gladiola Griffin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
