He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil E. Tibbitts, Sr. and Bessie Mae Blackston Tibbitts; his former wife Evelyn Christine Tibbitts; his wife Mary Jane Tibbitts; and his siblings, George Tibbitts, Betty Thomas, Lillian Barber, Nell Greer, Grace Tibbitts and Judy Tibbitts.
He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Tibbitts (Jan), Randy Tibbitts (Mary) and Linda Tibbitts. He is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
