With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Theresa Marie Carter of Dallas, Georgia, born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on September 28, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Lee Hammons and Marjorie Lee Weir Hammons; her husband Kelly Durrell Carter; her brother Michael Hammons; and her mother-in-law Myrtle Carter.

She is survived by: her son Chris Carter (Anna); her grandchildren, Cortland Carter and Cameron Carter; her brother James Hammons, Sr. (Mary); her sister-in-law Deborah Carter (Sheila Hammons); her nieces and nephews, Beth Hammons Weiner (Aaron), James Hammons, Jr. (Sarah), Misty Hammons, Melissa Hammons and Mitchell Hammons; and her great-niece Flora Weiner. She is also survived by many other extended family and friends.
