He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Hill Bowen and Vera Inez Hooper Bowen; his wife Ethel Rampley Bowen; his sons, Ronald Bowen and Larry Rosson Bowen; and his grandson Robert Douglas "Robby" Bowen, Jr..

He is survived by: his son Doug; his daughter-in-law Regina Bowen; his granddaughter Heather Wood (Ben); and his granddaughter-in-law Michelle Bowen. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
