He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Newton and Dorothy Watkins Newton; his wife Harriet Fretwell Newton; and his siblings, Alan Newton and Leslie Rose.
He is survived by: his brother Michael Newton; his daughters, Beth Thomas (Clarke), Kim Terrell (Tony), Valerie Thornton (Clarke) and Lara Rodgers (Richard); and his stepchildren, Kristy Luckie (David) and Kerry Johnson.
