She was predeceased by: her parents, Irving Theise and Florence Mason; and her brother John. She is survived by: her husband John Nicholas Mlincsek; her sons, John James Mlincsek (Jennifer), Richard John Mlincsek (Jennifer) and Kenneth John Mlincsek (Linda); her grandchildren, Christopher Brooks Mlincsek (Allyson), Brendan John Mlincsek (Kylie), Kristina Joan Mlincsek (Sidney MaRay), Leanne Victoria Mlincsek and Olivia Mae Mlincsek; and her great grandchild Layla Jean Mlincsek.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross, an organization that Joan felt strongly about.
