With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gary Allen McDowell of Dallas, Georgia, born in Cedartown, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Ulysses McDowell and Connie Mae Guice McDowell; his son Gary Allen McDowell, Jr.; his siblings, Gail McDowell Nantz, Lucille McDowell Phillips, Ellis "Harold" McDowell, Robert McDowell, Johnny McDowell and William "Bill" McDowell; and his sister-in-law Gaye McDowell.

He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Brooke McDowell of Acworth, Georgia; his stepson Grey Saylor of Tennessee; his sister Betty Thomason of Powder Springs, Georgia; his daughter Olivia Shead of Dallas, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Sarah Grace, Miller Tate and Ellie Rae. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Gary be mailed to Cornerstone Baptist Church Missions Fund at 730 Sawyer Road, Marietta, Georgia 30062.
