He was predeceased by: his parents, Turner Harris and Mary Harris; his wife Effie Louella Harris; his children, Bernard Harris Jr., Betty Jo Babiker and Howard Harris; and his siblings, Mitchell, Sam, Frank, Willie, Caroline, Mary, Daisy and Katie.
He is survived by: his children, Lonnie Harris and Rosemary Clemons. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
