He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harry Merritt and Jewell Ann Merritt. He is survived by: his daughter Sherry Bowen of Wayne, WV.; his siblings, James M. Merritt of West Blocton, Ronald Merritt (Diana) of Fort Gay, WV, Russell Merritt (Ruthann) and Joyce Adams of Dawsonville; and his nieces and nephews, Ronald Merritt (Samantha) of Wayne, WV, Clyde Adams, Jr. (Brooke) of Tuscon, AZ, Jeffrey Adama (Charity) of Dawsonville, Brittany Domke (Alex) of Dawsonville, James Merritt Jr. (Stephanie) of West Blocton, Brandon Merritt of West Blocton, Jillian Merritt of Huntington, WV, Caitlin Merritt of Parkersburg, WV and Taylor Marcum (Mack) of Pikeville.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home (150 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home (150 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040).
