He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cazy and Annie Ruth Langston Gardner; his son William Christopher Gardner; and his brother James Lester Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Amanda Waters Gardner; his daughter Cheryl Gardner; his son-in-law Donald Tatum; and his sisters, Evelyn Woodruff and Vivian Martin.
