He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Wilson and Lula Knight; his siblings, Dorcey Wilson, Lily Thomas, Annie Wilson and Ruth Hayes; and his son-in-law Johnny Chamblee.
He is survived by: his daughter Mattie; his son-in-law Mark Hebert; his son Faron; his daughter-in-law Alicia McElhannon; his daughter Shelly McElhannon; and his close friend Bonnie McElhannon. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
