He is survived by: his children, Lisa Merritt of Cuthbert and Rusty Merritt (Candice) of Cuthbert; his sister Janice Giles; his grandchildren, Tesa (Jonathan), Dale, Peyton (Kyra), Zachery, Bryceton, John Patrick Thompson and Steven Tyler Kennedy; and his great grandchildren, Emma Sauls, Heavenly Sauls, Karson Sauls, Lakelynn Merritt, Rowan Merritt, Atlas Merritt, Kennedy J. Thompson and Eric J. Thompson.
