It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Alan Dudley of Cumming, Georgia, who passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Clifford Dudley and Ann Lee Dudley (Edwards); and his brothers, Eugene Lee Dudley and Michael Charles Dudley. He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Golden (Joshua), Megan Makarewicz (John), Melissa Dekar (Matthew), Adrianne Dudley (William), Kelly Wilson (Tony) and Meredith Crawford (John); and his siblings, Katherine Ann Okada (Dudley) and John Clifford Dudley. He is also survived by his former wife, his daughters, 17 grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the John's Creek Presbyterian Church (10950 Bell Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30097). He served as Post Commander from 2020-2022, leading the Post through the COVID-19 crisis.

“Alan was senior class president at YORKTOWN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in Arlington,Virginia.I was his senior class sponsor.Alan was admired and loved by his classmates as well as by me.We followed his years at West Point with more pride.He attended his50th class reunion at YHS much to our delight.I had planned to call him and wish him a happy new year when I heard the news.I grieve with his family and friends.RIP,Alan.”
