He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Shafer and Millie Shafer; and his close friend John Schimmel. He is survived by: his wife Audrey Shafer; his daughter Shannon; his son-in-law Steve Walker; his grandchildren, Sam and Izzy Walker; his brother Gary; his sister-in-law Phyllis Shafer; his mother-in-law Armina Wu; and his sisters-in-law, Laura Wu-Benyshek and Cynthia Wu-Greenberg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
