He was predeceased by: his wife Stacy Rector; his parents, James Walker Nix and Gladys Marie Cochran Nix; his son Eric Nix (Cory Dale Ford); and his sister Teresa Lloyd.

He is survived by: his siblings, Bobby Townsend (Mandy), David Nix (Polly), Rita Staten (David), Tammy Duncan (Trent), Sondra Walker (Scott) and Billie Smith (Travis). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
