He was predeceased by: his father James W. Owens; and his grandparents, Bertha, McKinley Townsend, Perry and Eunice Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Delinda Owens; his son Derick; his daughter-in-law Christy Owens; his daughter Jacklin Lashea Akers; his mother Jackie Owens; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Slaughter, Erica Slaughter, Destiny Owens, Makayla Owens, McKenzie Akers, Alyssa Akers, Kolton Akers, Shayleigh Akers and Braxton Akers; his great grandchild Olivia Hope Willis; and his siblings, Patricia Knight, Donna Cantrell, Kathy Massingill, Kenny Owens, Otis and Stevie Owens. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
