She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Dewey and Alma Idell Rainey (Hulsey); her husband Vernon Powell; her siblings, Hilda Evelyn Rainey Black, Edna Earl Carpenter, James Lindell Rainey and George Walter "Buck" Rainey; her children, Marcus, Garry Powell and Lynne; and her son-in-law Jimmy Burnette.
She is survived by: her daughters, Elaine (Don Hardman) and Carole (Mike Sorrells); her sister Mary Frances Rainey; her daughter-in-law Kikumi Powell; and her friend Martha Black. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Zion Baptist Church (7037 GA-212, Covington, GA 30016). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
