Though Sara may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sara leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Dawkins, Sr. and Nedra Jean Thompson Dawkins; and her in-laws, Dewey Gibson Hamby and Bette Florence Sherod. She is survived by: her stepson Robert Jared Hamby; her husband Bob Hamby (Bob); her brother Billy Dawkins, Jr. (Diane); her nephew Lee Dawkins (Angie); her close friend Beth Moore; and her son Rev. Montana Hamby (Natalee). She is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in memory of Sara Hamby to the Alcovy Trestle Family and Friends Relay for Life team benefitting the American Cancer Society, an organization that Sara supported for nearly two decades.
