She was predeceased by: her parents, William McGarity Harris and Ruth Thomas Harris Blackwell; her husband Dixon Hays; her daughter Melinda Hays Lord; her brother Jack; her sister-in-law Julia Blackwell; her sister Ann; her siblings-in-law, Harold Bird, Pleas and Bettye Hays; her nephew Wade Blackwell; and her niece Jane Woods.
She is survived by: her son Julius; her children-in-law, Jamie Hays of Covington and Jim Lord; her granddaughters, Jessie Hays Whitwell (Zack), Jennifer Wilson (Eric), Rebecca Box (Stephen) and Mary Beth Lord (Rich); and her great grandchildren, Hays Wilson, Kate Wilson, RJ Zamor and Michael Zamor.
