It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luther Rufus Carter of Covington, Georgia, born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on November 28, 2020, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Vernon and Bonnie Anderson Carter; his brother David Carter; and his son Butch Carter. He is survived by: his children, Jessica Brock (Kevin) of Covington, Matthew Harris (Alicia) of Eatonton and Sam Carter (Nicole) of Covington; his grandchildren, Damian, Austin, Savannah, Ashley, Nash, Waylon, Kolby, Konar, Kimberly and Zackary; his great grandchildren, Adiley and Bristol; his sister Ruth Aycox of Madison; his sister-in-law Sheila Carter of Lithonia; and the mother of his children Kay Moran of Covington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
