He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Jimmy; his former wife Charolotte Ann Nichols; his grandson Daniel Scott Nichols; and his siblings, Danny Nichols and Charolotte Giles.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Nichols of Covington; his children, David Joseph Nichols of Covington, Frank Edward Nichols of Blairsville and Joann Nichols Carroll (Johnny McCullough) of Johnson City, TN; his grandchildren, Christy Lynn Nichols, Brian Preston Nichols, Christopher Carroll and Brandon Carroll; his great grandchildren, Riley Nichols, Caleb Phillips, Kaleigh Carroll, Erin Wilcox Henry and Ariana Nichols; his sister Becky Prater; his niece Gail Ann Adams; and his stepchildren, Bobbie Joe (BJ), Maddox (Mike Teal), Cathy Wagner (Donnie), Michael Sullivan (Bubba) and Mickey Edward. He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren; and a host of many friends.
