He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Brewton Smith and Elliott Lavander Smith. He is survived by: his wife Linda Dixon Smith; his daughters, Laura Elliott Smith Budnick (Brian) of Atlanta and Ariail Smith Gorman (Russell) of Atlanta; his grandsons, Hampton, Brewton Budnick and Harry Gorman; and his sister Charlene Smith Crumpton of Warrenton. He is also survived by numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
