He is survived by: his children, James Albert Ransom, Jr. and Mary Ransom; his grandchildren, Juaquita Martin, Shaniqua Nicole Ransom, James Albert Ransom, III and Javontai Terrell Ransom; his great grandchildren, Klaay Drame, Camila Ransom, Jai'don Johnson and Ryder Ransom; and his sister Ethel Knight.
