We bid farewell to Ophelia Ivester Spivey of Cornelia, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 28, 2025 at the age of 83. Ophelia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Julian Eugene Ivester and Beulah Shirley Ivester; and her brother Henry Hank Ivester. She is survived by: her husband Bob Spivey; her children, F. Brian Spivey (Lisa) and Teresa "Nita" Spivey Thompson; her grandchildren, Eric Spivey, Joshua Spivey (Amanda), Cole Spivey (Bethany), Kayla Pharris (Mitchell), Kelly Henry (David) and Heath Thompson (Ariel); her great grandchildren, Rowan, Chastyn, Kenslie, Wynter, Silas and Parker; and her siblings, Hugh Ivester (Opal), Bitsy Demore (Michael), Julia Ivester, Joan McCall (Wendell), Gladys Moore (Gene), Barbara Oaks and Wanda Hall (Dill). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home (175 VFW Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Shirley Grove Baptist Church (771 Shirley Grove, Clarkesville, GA 30523).
