He is survived by: his wife Alice Darlene Smith Faulkner of Cornelia; his children, Melvin Dale Faulkner, Jr. of Toccoa, Carol Allen of Cornelia and Kim Sosebee of Toccoa; his sister Faye; and his brother-in-law Larry Frady of Toccoa. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
