He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Clyde and Mary Alice Echols Allen; his former wife Cherie Jo Allen; his siblings, Barbara Allen Roberts, Ann Allen Smith and Gary Clyde Allen; and his stepchildren, Keith Simpson and Lisa Griffith.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Jenny" Atkinson Simpson Allen of Cornelia; his sister Donna Rose Allen Callaway (Johnny); his stepson Kevin Simpson (Angie); his stepdaughter-in-law Cherry Simpson; his nieces, Pam Vaughn (Brian), Laura Moody (Donald) and Michelle Lowry (Mark); his nephew Gary Allen (Lowella); and his sister-in-law Nita Allen-Drake. He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren, 10 special grandchildren, three great step-grandchildren, and six special great grandchildren.
