He was predeceased by: his parent Julius Maness; his wife Flora Floyce Brock Maness; his son Alton Maness; his siblings, Auburn Maness, Addie Hogsed and Iowa Spradley; and his son-in-law Phillip Gaines.
He is survived by: his parent Lillie James Maness; his daughters-in-law, Everett, Beth Maness of Dahlonega, Amiel, Kathy Maness of Lexington, Loren Maness of Cornelia and Sandra Maness of Clarkesville; his daughters, Betty Ann Gaines of Mt, Airy Apple and Janet Maness Apple of Dayton; his grandchildren, Mark Gaines, Andrea Gaines, Rhonda Maness, Heather Galloway, Jonathan Maness, Rebekah Cauthen, Patrick Cauthen, Amanda Green, Joshua Wilbanks, Marissa Strickland and Jessica Maness; his nephew Warren Hogsed; and his niece Dorothy Higgins.
