He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Jay Sherman and Mary Alden Whittington Sherman; and his brothers, Edgar Jay Sherman III, John Alden Sherman and Richard Whittington Sherman.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Lee Sherman of Cornelia; his children, Michael David Sherman of Gainesville, Kimberly Anne Sherman of Cornelia, Elizabeth Kay Sherman of Monroe, Christine Angel Levesque (Mark) and Michelle Anne Sherman of Woodstock; his grandchild Colten Sloan Sherman of Dallas; his brother William Sherman of San Francisco, CA; and his friend Michael G. Kohr of Cornelia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
