He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hunter and Josie Garrett Hunter; his former wife Louise Hunter; his daughter Lola Louise Hunter; his grandson Corie Loudermilk; and his siblings, Tommy Hunter, Kenneth Hunter, James Hunter, David Hunter, Marie Purcell and Pauline Chitwood.
He is survived by: his wife Fannie Murray Hunter of Cornelia; his daughters, Michelle (Randall Loudermilk), Sonya (Pete Herring), Christina (Scott Morgan) and Amanda Mabrey of Demorest; and his grandchildren, Chase Powell, Cagan Powell, Cooper Powell, Makenna Mabrey, Jay Bowens, Milam Mabrey, Zachary Shelnut and Isaac Shelnut. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews.
