He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Mobley, Sr. and Fannie Mae Smith; his wife Willie Mae; his daughter Barbara Mobley Price; his granddaughter Stephanie Mobley; and his siblings, Annie Ruth Mobley, LeAnna Stephens, Ethel Mae Dennard, John Wesley Mobley, John Louis Mobley and Isaac Mobley.
He is survived by: his children, Walter Mobley, Jr. (Margaret) of Cordele, Patricia Rolle-Holton (Alvin) of Lakeland, Malissa Mobley-McCloud (Larry) of Cordele, Johnecia Yancey (Quincey) of Chesapeake, Virginia and Linsey Johnson (Connie) of Atlanta, Georgia; his great grandchild Jartavious "Trey" Mobley; his sisters, Dora Avery of Lake City, Lucinda Collenton of Jacksonville and Lula Mae Mobley of Atlanta; his niece Priscilla Rahman of Cordele, Georgia; and his friends, Mattie Sue Harris, Terry White, Henton Dean, Patsy, Jim Jackson, Rosalind Porter and George Lester. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home, Inc. (407 W 17th Ave E, Cordele, GA 31015). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church (617 17th Ave W, Cordele, GA 31015).
