He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Ruth Boulware Dowell and Spright Dowell, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Dowell of Cordele; his children, Bill Dowell of Savannah and Angie Wilkerson (Mike) of Cordele; his siblings, Rufus Dowell (Angel) of Jacksonville and Camille Walker of Cordele; his grandchildren, Jason Wilkerson (Joni), David Wilkerson, Blake Fletcher and Spright Dowell; and his great grandchild Jackson Wilkerson Walls.
