He was predeceased by: his father Dewey Homer; and his sister Brenda Hines. He is survived by: his wife Rita Wade Varner of Cordele; his daughters, Robin Varner Kaiser, Whitney Varner Miller, Paige Varner Benton of Winter Springs, Fla., Nikki Brewer of Cordele and Meagan Jacups of Cookeville, Tenn.; and his brothers, Dewey Varner, Jr. of Palm Coast, Fla., Jim Varner of Marion, N. C., Wayne Varner of Jupiter, Fla. and Gary Varner of Woodstock. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
