He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Lee Gilliam and May Bell Davis Gilliam; his daughter Rhonda Spivey; and his siblings, Billy Gilliam, Bobby Gilliam, Edwin Gilliam, Earl Gilliam, Robert Gilliam, Leroy Gilliam, Christine Forrest, Annie Lois Gilliam, Lottie Mae Gilliam, Mildred Ergle and Linda Staines.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Gilliam; his children, Vicki Brown of Cordele, Tony Brown (Becky) of Cordele and William "Dean" Brown (Lisa) of Sylvester; and his son-in-law Leon Spivey. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
