He was predeceased by: his sister Margaret Ginn Piotrowski; and his cousin Robert Stephens McCommons. He is survived by: his wife Jane McConnell Stephens of Cordele; his sons, Barrett Stephens of Chapel Hill and Patrick Stephens of Marietta, Georgia; his siblings, June Stephens Cornuet of Acworth, Georgia and John M. McConnell; and his sister-in-law Sue Massey McConnell of Marietta, Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
