“My children attended Claxton Highschool under Dewey's leadership. He was a natural leader and inspiration to his staff and children. Dewey was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and remarkable shot. I will never forget the day my dog pointed a covey of quail on a fence row. When the birds flushed, I shot three times killing three birds. I never heard Dewey shoot. Unbelievable but he had shot at precisely the same time that I did - also killing three birds! Dewey was a GREAT AMERICAN and a dear friend.”
