With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles William Holmes (Cordele, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2025 at the age of 83. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Charles William may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Holmes and Nora Carter Holmes; and his grandsons, Dino McGinnis and Blake McGinnis. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Hughes Holmes of Vienna; his children, Tony Forsythe (Penny) of Cordele, Lee Forsythe (Tracy Jackson) of Cordele, Ronda Smith (Brian) of Cordele, Lyne Holmes Hayslip (Bobby) of Cordele, Glennette Goodbread (Robert) of Albany and Cindy Holmes Gordon (Clint) of Cordele; and his brother Marvin "Buddy" Holmes (Terri) of Texas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
