He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse D. Layfield and Louise Pierce Layfield; and his siblings, Edgar H. Layfield and Eleanor Brock. He is survived by: his siblings, James Layfield (Myrtle), Phillip Croft, Mary Parham, Linnie Greene, Patti Croft, Carolyn Croft, Barbara Owens, Rhonda Barefoot and Marjorie Yow; and his sister-in-law Joyce Layfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the M. G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier and Son Funeral Home (1016 4th Ave, Rochelle, GA 31079). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Morningside Cemetery (250 Grady St NE, Rochelle, GA 31079).
