She was predeceased by: her parents, George Durden and Fannie Smith; her husband Newton C. Maddox Jr.; and her brothers, Alvin Durden (Vera) and James Smith (Sarah).
She is survived by: her children, Benita Nelson (Keith) and Dr. Donald Maddox (Leah); and her granddaughters, Courtney Nelson and Erika Nelson.
