He was predeceased by: his parents, James Scaffe and Rosalie Cross; and his brother Joseph Scaffe. He is survived by: his wife Belle Scaffe; his children, Becky Hazeltine, Mike Hazeltine, Debbie Whigham, Alan Whigham, Wesley Scaffe, Joann Scaffe, Racheal Patterson, Jimmy Patterson, Miriam Kerbow, Davey Scaffe and Cindy Scaffe; his sister-in-law Jack Scaffe; and also Lois Scaffe. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and brother.
