He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Morrison New. He is survived by: his children, Terri New Michael of Athens and James M. New, Jr. of Humble, TX; his children-in-law, Sean Michael and Cherie New; his sister Martha Dingler; his grandchildren, Michael, Robert Buice, Alicia Guidry, Claudia, James and Clayton New; and his great grandchildren, Cecilia and Elyse Guidry.
