He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Keenan and Sally Odessa Rice Keenan; his daughter Pamela Keenan; his stepson Cortez Anderson; and his brothers, Willie Eugene "June" Keenan, Robert Odell "Bobby" Keenan and John Nathan "Sonny" Keenan.

He is survived by: his spouse Ethelrene Anderson Keenan; his children, Frederick Keenan (Yolanda), Brenyon Keenan (Alisa), Jervonne Thacker (Russell), Makesha Bobo (Terrance), Sheprana Johnson (Bryan) and Jamie Keenan; and his sisters, Mary Keenan Webster, Corrie Elizabeth Browning and Jettie Keenan Sullivan. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren.
