She was predeceased by: her parents, Wallie Hughes and Mary Hughes; her son David Allen Bateman; and her granddaughter Elizabeth Bateman. She is survived by: her husband Ashton S. Bateman, Jr.; her sons, Marcus (Cindy Bateman) and Paul (Molly Bateman); her grandchildren, Michael, Christy, Scott and Courtney; her great grandchildren, Kailey, Mia, Ashton, Paityn and Caleb; and her pet Sophie.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Belmont Baptist Church for the Wachira family, missionaries to Kenya.
