She was predeceased by: her parents, Forrest Lee Giles and Mary Corbett Giles; her husband Willie Moon; her son Forrest Armstrong Thacker; and her siblings, F. L. Giles Jr. and John Rabun Giles.
She is survived by: her children, Richard, Laure Thacker, Ronald and Debra Ray. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
