She was predeceased by: her former husbands, Lamar Green Hudson and William Pickney Hunt; and her siblings, James Cowan, Luther Cowan, Clayborne Cowan, Royce Cowan and Josephine Cowan Cooper.

She is survived by: her daughter Janet Anita Foley; her grandchildren, Brian Hudson McElroy (Tammy) and Anita Karen Varrone (Angelo); her great grandchildren, Colin McElroy, Connor McElroy, Clara Jr and Evan Hunter, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Martha Joslin; and her children, John Hunt (Shelby) and Beth Thompson (Nick).
