She was predeceased by: her parents, John Thomas Mathis and Josephine Harris Mathis; her spouse Willie Frank Armstrong Jr.; and her siblings, John Thomas Mathis Jr., Willie "Sonny" Harris, Lanny Mathis, James Mathis, Jeanette Ellis and Charlotte Mathis.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Marsh Terrell (Charlie), Charlotte Armstrong, Michael Armstrong (Evelyn) and Marlon Schofield (Alicia); and her sisters, Barbara Ann Cintron (Chris), Loretta Schofield, Belinda Mathis and Chandra Tarver.
