He was predeceased by: his parents, Voyd Barnett and Lela Jones Barnett; and his siblings, Amory Barnett and Judy Wood. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Barnett; his children, Andy Barnett of Commerce Georgia and Sandy Akin (Robert) of Nicholson; his grandchildren, Andrew Barnett (Megan), Carley Ford (Paul), Tyler Akin (Sierra), Justin Akin (Taylor) and Bradley Akin; and his great grandchildren, Hadley Ford and Bash Barnett.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Blacks Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or The Gideons International.
