He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold M. Benton and Leora Cruce Benton; and his brother Roger Benton (Jessie Garrison Benton). He is survived by: his daughters, Joni Patrick (Joe) of Jefferson and Carol Pound of Jefferson; his siblings, Larry Benton of Jefferson and Beverly Green of Alpharetta; and his close friend Pauline Hancock of Jefferson.
