He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Kesler and Alma E. Kesler; his daughters, Laura Jean Kesler and Evelyn Rebecca K. Poole; his grandson Justin Poole; and his siblings, Terrell, David Kesler and Martha Kesler of Virginia.
He is survived by: his wife Aleene Stevens Kesler; his son Beacher Kesler of Commerce; his son-in-law Johnny Poole of Baldwin; his granddaughter Amanda Sheriff (Casey) of Martin; his great grandchildren, Jared and Jacob Sheriff of Martin; and his sisters-in-law, Jo Wilbanks, Shirley Willis, Pauline Hancock, Ruby Fleeman and Johnnie Kennedy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
