He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Welborn and Clemmie Welborn (Chambers); the mother of his children Peggy Cotton Welborn; and his siblings, Howard, Hoyle Welborn and Grace Nell Morris.

He is survived by: his sons, Raymond (Lisa Welborn) and Andrew (Amanda Welborn); his grandchildren, Colton Carter, Dawson Welborn, Ethan, Logan and Cayden Anderson; and his great grandchildren, Remington and Walker Carter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that a donation be made in his memory to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
